Thing you should NEVER say to a pregnant lady

  • WoW! Did you explode over night?
  • Are you smuggling basketballs?
  • Are you sure there aren't twins in there?
  • Man, its all going to your butt!
  • Are you about to POP?
  • You look terrible.
  • (When pregnant girl wears purple)
    • Comparing her to anything purple, such as:

THE TAKE AWAY:: Lets not make comments on the size of the pregnant chick. She is aware of how large she is getting. She is aware that her body is not what it once was, and I'd be willing to bet that most pregnant women are self-conscious of their charging physic. So.... lets keep our comments to a minimum, as in not at all.

Focus on her beauty. Ask how she is feeling, not just the baby. Offer to help. Encourage her to relax and rest. Help her enjoy her figure, rather than tease or criticize. Take her to do something (just because she's pregnant, doesn't mean she wants to be a home-body).

You get my point.....

Blessings :)

Every Gal Needs a Hobby

and at the ripe old age of 25, I finally found mine!!

Drum Roll Please.......

KNITTING!!

My new found love is in an old fashioned skill. I have become positively obsessed with this new adventure. In the last 6 months, I have reminded myself how to knit with the help of some books and YouTube videos. A long time ago, my wonderful grandmother had shared this skill with me, but at the time I was too young to appreciate it. Now that I am older and in desperate need of a way to stay sane, I have latched onto this art form.

I love how it is something that can be done by anyone of any age. It is a progressive skill that is built on basic stitches that can be grown into complex works of art using just the right combination of knits and purls. The projects can range from small and dainty to big and bulky and anything in between. There is just an amazing variety for all ranges of skills and motivations.

Toy for Baby

I am trying to find a way to share this hobby with the ones I love and more. I would appreciate any ideas from anyone interested in learning.  Please leave suggestions or feedback in the comments below.

GOD BLESS!!

Who Said Being Pregnant is FUN??

THEY LIED!!

Well, kind of...

My first pregnancy was bliss. Or at least that is how I remember it. Besides the morning sickness, odd cravings, and random bouts of unexplainable crying.... all was well.

This baby, however, is her own kind of crazy. I think its safe to say that I have had every symptom known to pregnant women in the last 6.5 months, and frankly I am exhausted. It starts in the morning with fatigue and emotional instability and it ends in the evenings with restlessness and heartburn.

Can we please just pick a few symptoms and let that be it?? Of course not.

My sweet tooth has gained 24 lbs and shows no signs of slowing. The skin on my face has a mind of its own. And this baby thinks my rib cage is a perfect resting place for all of her boney appendages.

Did I mention that her weight is 2 weeks ahead of my due date, my little chunk!!

If this pregnancy is any sign of what is to come, I am in for quite a ride. But, what can I say... I was warned! My mother-in-law explicitly explained that carrying a Kelly is no easy feat. She did NOT lie!!

Who am I kidding though?? I am so excited to meet this precious angel, I would walk through fire for her if need be, and we haven't even met! I can tell already she will be such fun!

Just needed to rant ;)
