The One Year Bible Expressions

As some of you may know, I recently was out and about with my hubby and purchased a new bible. It is called The One Year Bible Expressions. It is a bible that is meant to encourage interaction with the text by writing on the lines on the side of the page or coloring the decorative verses provided.

As it seams, this is the most amazing purchase of my life. I have been able to dive in feet first and stay excited about reading the bible.

Initially I was concerned about the organization because in each daily "assigned reading" it offers a little bit of the old testament, a little bit of the new, some from Psalms, and a touch from Proverbs. I am someone who couldn't do the assigned reading in school when teachers assigned pages and chapters out of order, so this terrified me. BUT... it has been an amazing change of pace. If I feel like a story is slow, its okay because there is a new one coming up soon. Each page is only meant to take about 15 minutes, so its a very manageable commitment.

To accompany me in my reading, I've got some assorted pens, highlighters, and an epic set of markers. With this little collection of goodies, I feel like my Bible has really just come alive! Which brings me to why I am here...

My goal is to kind of chronicle my readings and my takeaways. The nerd in me is researching everything as I read, and I feel called to share what God is revealing to me. (So much so, I am even looking into an online Master's in Ministry, but I'll share more on that another time). For now, I just want to have somewhere to share what I am learning.
